Hello Everyone, We have received information that a group of Ex-Microsoft employees got hold of a user list and have been contacting people saying that they have detected a virus and want to run some tests. After they get you to give them access to your computer they put a BAD virus into it, then they identify it to you and try to get you to pay to have them remove it. If you don't pay they leave it there and if you do pay, they leave it there anyway. BEWARE of this Scam and don't let anyone get access to your computer unless you know who they are and what specifically you want them to do.

As of 4:00 PM today the Hwy 762 tower was fully operational once again. If you do not have your service restored, please contact our tech support line as soon as possible. 403-931-6730, ext 108, then option 1. Considering the wind force yesterday and the mis-shipment of some replacement broadcast equipment, this was rectified quickly and we appreciate the efforts of Tower-Tech West, Ltd and their crew for the quick response and efforts under dangerous conditions.

After completing the dismantling of the damaged tower and all but one section of the re-erection of the tower the wind again began gusting to dangerous speeds (80 km+). We did manage to mount the primary back haul on one of the lower sections. All of the cables are in place and tested, therefore tomorrow should go relatively quickly as long as the weather forecast stays as it is now. We will post another update in the morning, but our hopes for completion today have been forced to midday tomorrow.

Yesterday (Wed Jan 04) before noon the wind (120 km/hr+) damaged a significant part of the tower on Hwy 762. This has caused an outage effecting all of the Hwy 762, Sq. Butte Ranche and part of 22X west of Priddis areas.
Today, weather permitting, we will remove the entire existing tower and replace it with a new one. With whatever time is available, we will also install new broadcast equipment. Whatever is not completed today will be operational by the end of day tomorrow.

The Google Apps change over has gone reasonably well, but we have been overwhelmed with phone calls that have taken longer to resolve than expected. We will get to everyone and we apologize for the delay. Additional instructions for setting up mail clients (such as Outlook and Apple Mail) are ready now and will be sent out via webmail. The whole crew will continue with this as long as it takes and we will have instructions for Blackberries and iPhones as well in the morning.

Okay, it is D-Day. Another message would have been sent out to you last night advising of the changeover time and actions needed to be taken. This was not SPAM. Today we will be sending out a message with mail client information (Outlook, Apple mail, etc). Tonight at 9:00 PM all mail traffic will stop until 9:00 AM Saturday morning. NO MAIL WILL BE LOST and it will start flowing into your email account then. We will also be sending out further instructions in the morning. Thanks for your patience during this important and beneficial changeover.

URGENT:
One of our System admins with the email address starting ddrvan had a problem with the script that was run last night which sent duplicates to many of you. So unfortunately we will be sending out yet another set of passwords. These will be the correct ones. Many of you have already told us that the previous ones were deleted as spam. We will be sending an email to you all to confirm this as well. Thanks again for your patience.

NOTICE OF NETWORK WIDE OUTAGE
We have been working on a redundant link to our data centre in Calgary and have begun to implement that plan. Tomorrow, Thursday May 13, and into Friday May 14, Davinci is replacing a router that connects clients in Bragg Creek and Sundre. We will also be using this opportunity to make changes to other routers that will impact the entire network. This is the second step of four required to implement that upstream redundancy. The team will start at 9 PM and hopefully be completed by 3 AM. During that period there will be several outages however the total outage for any individual client should not exceed one hour. As always we will work to keep any interruptions to a minimum but this is a major undertaking and we have to anticipate the worst case scenario. This notice will be posted on the website as well, as per our previous messages. Thank you all for your patience and support as we continue to improve your Davinci internet experience.
